“My film is a quest around a family secret. I did not know nothing of my maternal grand-father dead in Corsica in July 1944. My mother never really spoke about him. She could not evoke Corsica without bursting into tears. I always knew something tragic weigh heavy on her, and therefore on me. As I became a mother myself, and after my father passed away, I looked at my mother in a new way, I wanted to know, understand,speak. The time had come where the duty of breaking silence, the silences, also seems to me as a right.
Between secrets and doubt, going beyhond the burden of a legacy or a story that could not be transmitted, and that can physically be translated into a corsican expression: « Acqua in bocca », the water in the mouth, the water that prevents from speaking.”
