Geneviève Sevin-Doering, artisane et artiste d’avant-garde a révolutionné la conception du costume et du vêtement. A soixante-quinze ans, elle est aveugle depuis quelques années. Elle aurait pu abandonner son activité mais elle a compensé son handicap en décuplant ses capacités d’intuition et de perception tactile. Elle reçoit des élèves du monde entier dans son atelier à Marseille et transmet sa recherche, celle de l’équilibre, de la justesse du vêtement coupé en un seul morceau adapté au corps et à la personnalité de chacun.
Geneviève Sevin-Doering, craftswoman and cutting edge artist, revolutionized the conception of the costume and the clothing. At the age of seventy-five, she is blind for some years. She could have gave up her activity but she made up for her handicap by increasing her capacities of intuition and tactile perception. She receives students from all over the world in her workshop in Marseilles and passes on her research, that of the balance, the rightness of the garment cut in a single piece adapted to the body and the personality of each one.
