International criminal justice can be traced back to the Nuremberg trials of Nazi leaders after World War II. Since November 1994, the United Nations has tasked the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha, Tanzania, with judging the perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide -the massacre of nearly a million people, mainly Tutsis, that was played out before a mute international audience. How does international justice transcend its political foundations? What does it mean to try in the name of a universel conscience? From Arusha to Arusha uses ICTR archive footage and original interviews to examine the workings of judicial diplomacy.

Bord de route de campagne au Rwanda, dans le brouillard du matin. Ambiance stéréo prise synchrone en tournage, plan monté dans le film. Dans le film l’extrait audible est beaucoup plus court.
